Highly proficient at keyboards and guitar, Nelson Rios can play with any musician.  But where he really stands out from the crowd is on the bass. As a studio musician in Los Angeles, his credits include work with many producers for shows like The Bachelorette, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, HBO and many others. He has performed with celebrated artists such as Lee Ritenour, Emmett Skyy, Steve Fister and has played for many Hollywood celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and a host of other A listers.  Suffice it to say Nelson is uniquely talented.  Yet, he has put his Hollywood passion aside, at least for now, so he can be the music director at Forest Hill Church in Charlotte North Carolina and serve the Lord.

Nelson is a husband and father of 2 young boys so there is plenty of daily work and challenge for he and his wife.  Despite life’s many distractions, Nelson works hard to keep his eye on God and hear Gods call for his life. Between the demanding schedule of a multi campus church, multiple weekend services, teaching music, and spending time with his family Nelson has a full schedule.  In the midst of the hectic schedule Nelson became part of 19 Lions not just to be another Charlotte Christian rock band but to testify for Jesus.

Charlotte has become home to new Christian praise and worship music giving rise to many new artists.   Nelson played bass on the 3 pre-release new songs from 19 Lions and the band is in the process of writing the rest of the material for their upcoming album.  “I am listening for God’s call,” said Nelson, “And each day I do my best to lift him up.”
